hi folks!
a pair of altec 9842-8d studio monitors
is for sale in a local auction. there is no discussion about the speakers except the lansingheritage site so i`m writing here if you guys can help me out?
1. what do you think is the value of the speakers?
2. is it possible to get new parts anymore?
...and third and most important, how do these sound? i recently bought a vintage pioneer amplifier (spec-4) and i`m thinking of these speakers for monitoring purposes in my home dj-mixing "booth" and also just for listening music. i?m a n00b so plese help me

The 9842-8A/D was a contractor/studio monitor version of the Altec Model 14. The "A" was utility grey, and the "D" was finished oak.
Very nice speakers.
